About Me
My name is Robert Herring and my entire life I've enjoyed art in all of it's forms. At the age of one, my father found me drawing all over myself with my mothers lipstick. At two, I started mimicking music that I heard on TV and in movies on the piano, although I wasn't all that good. During the summers growing up, my family would go to the beach and while most kids played in the sand and swam in the ocean, I sculpted life size mermaids and large sea animals. In middle school, I took up piano again and won an award for having a perfect ear. In hight school I took up poetry and photography and had both, a poem and a photograph I took published in two separate books.
It was around this time that my family got our first computer. Feeling like this was yet another attempt to bring school into the house, I didn't take to it at first. After my friend introduced me to the world of gaming, I began to come around. Not too long after, the same friend introduced me to the internet, and my world was forever changed. In 1996, at the age of 13, I created my first website. Though the world never saw it, and it certainly wouldn't have won any awards, I could now see my future very clearly. Feeling like programming was where the money was at, in high school I studied C++, VB, Java, HTML, some XML and DHTML. A few years of that and I realized that I enjoyed making my programs look pretty more than I enjoyed making them function.
In 2001, I started FiSH GRAPHICS to do photography and graphic art while accepting a client or two for web design every now and then. After almost a year of working for my fathers company as the Marketing Administrator, I learned about Full Sail and decided that was the path for me. Now, Just over ten years after my first web site, I have found my way and am truly excited about the future.
